After Peter's #05 Commodore retired with engine problems he, along with his co-driver David Parsons, jumped across into the #10 sister car to complete the race eventually crossing the line third behind the two Texaco Eggenberger Sierras. Peter McLeod had driven the car through its first two race stints and his scheduled co-driver Jon Crooke missed out on a drive.
